I don't really have much to say about today because it was mostly all showcase work time in both the morning and the afternoon, and I really didn't do much but help them out with finishing their projects.
For the morning all the freshman finished their projects with no problems, and for the sophomores, all of them either finished or are super close to being finished with only a few more things to add, except for Terrence (who has a lot to do and will work at home with Gabe and email the ITA gmail account their project when they are done).
So it wasn't really anything new for me as an instructor today in the labs; however, my little "discussion" time in Will's class with the seniors about being a PEOPLE Scholar and a little bit about being a student at UW Madison. It was kind of different experience from being an instructor because I wasn't really teaching anything to them, so I felt more like a public speaker or something. It was just a different experience, so it was pretty interesting to feel like I was the "wise one" with vital knowledge, information, and advice for them to use once they become students at UW Madison.

4/18 session
Today I pretty much lead for both the afternoon and morning sessions (which I dont think was supposed to be done for the morning session but it just kind of ended up that way).
So for the morning session with Sabrina, I was expecting to just be basically the support for the session and Sabrina was going to be leading with whatever she had planned or whatever was posted on the Wiki, however, I guess there was some confusion as far as that because I basically ended up taking over the session for the day as we went through getting them all on the right track with their showcase projects (and in a way I kind of feel like I could have been "stingy" with the teaching that session because I didnt really leave much or make much time to let Sabrina do much, but at the same time I felt sort of obligated to kind of "step up" for that session for the sake of actually getting the session up and going). So maybe for the next session when I'm understood to just be the "support," I'll try harder to just sort of sit back and do more more of encouraging for the instructor that is supposed to be leading that session to actually get everything started and lead for the day. But other than that I think the students made a reasonable amount of progress on their showcase projects and i was able to help a lot of them with their ideas. Although it seems like they're kind of struggling with coming up for a way to really be able to engage an audience of elementary students, so that'll definitely be something for them to work on or the next session.
For the afternoon session, I lead the session (as I expected) and Elizabeth was did well as the "support" instructor. We started off by going over how the students' BTW were almost and what they needed to understand/do in order for them to be finished. So for the BTWs, I know that all of them were successfully done all the way except for Ashanti because she looked llike she still had a little bit more to do when I had glanced at her progress (but Elizabeth was working with her so I'm not sure how far they got with that and if they actually got it completed by the time we moved on to the showcase). Also, Adrainne's BTW was pretty basic and simple and could've been improved a whole lot more, but I kind of figured since she was so far behind and we were getting ready to move on to an entirely different project, that it would be best to just go through her project with her and see what still needed to be done, and jus sort of do the smallest tweaks to her project so that all the boxed on her evaluation sheet could be completed, so yeah, if ever there's like some kind of extra time I'd really like to see hers re-worked a bit more.
As far as the showcase with the afternoon session, there was quite a bit of confusion as far as how the students were progressing with their projects--partly from me because I wasn't with them for the last session so I wasn't sure where everybody was with their projects or where everyone was a class, and also there confusion amongst the students because I guess some of them forgot their project ideas or where they were planning on going with them (even after we brought them up ont he wiki). But the project proposal sheet helped out a lot as far as making sure just about everyone was either working with a set plan of how their project would be, or else they had a set of guidelines in front of them to get started with what their project idea was going to be.
And for the permit test, we didnt get to it because of the fact that so many stuents had to leave early to prepare for the talent show so that will definitely be the first thing to get into at the next session.
