Session 2/28

Goals: Keep drinking my juice every now and then, and try not to talk to loud because of my throat.


Today went pretty smooth. The morning with the freshman didn't seem as hectic as it usually is which is probably because we were talking about Photoshop and they seemed interested. For the spring showcase, they all have their groups together but not all of them have a solid idea just yet on what they want to do. They might need a few more examples or maybe just to set aside about half an hour in a little circle so that they are away from their computers (since a lot them are constantly being distracted by internet games during worktime) to brainstorm with their groups on possible project ideas.

The Photoshop session went pretty well. I think the students had fun with editing their photos and were really interested in some of the FX they could use and also with my Sin City Effect lesson that i decided to show them just to give them another idea to incorporate into their photos. They seemed to be excited about getting started on their BTWs as well and they have a lot of options to choose from. I like how AJ had the students come into a little oval kind of group to talk about their ideas so far on what they wanted to do for their BTW projects because the "monitors off" technique isn't always fully effective with every student. So I'm definitely going to start using that with the freshman. And I guess I didnt really go through with my goal becasue at the end of the sessions my voice actually got a little worse so I was really trying not to talk too loud or much at all.
